How to reach Darjeeling:

By Air: Bagdogra Airport (IXB), which is situated about 70 km away from Darjeeling, is the closest airport. The Bagdogra Airport has good connections to Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Guwahati, among other important Indian cities. Depending on the state of the roads, it will take 3 to 4 hours to go from Bagdogra to Darjeeling by cab or shared jeep.

By Train: New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), which has good connections to several Indian cities, is the largest railway station closest to Darjeeling. You may get to Darjeeling from NJP via cab or by shared jeep. The trip covers a distance of about 70 kilometres and takes about 3 to 4 hours.

By Road: Road travel connects adjacent cities and towns with Darjeeling. It will take you between 12 and 14 hours to travel directly to Darjeeling from Kolkata by bus. As an alternative, you can travel to Siliguri or New Jalpaiguri by train or plane, then take a cab or shared jeep to Darjeeling.

You can also travel to Darjeeling from Siliguri on the renowned Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Toy Train), which offers a scenic and comfortable ride. While the toy train takes longer than other forms of transportation, it provides a special and nostalgic experience.
